West Ham have bid over £34m for Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca, but the Serie A side value the Italian at around £42.6m.

Positive talks are ongoing between the clubs over the 23-year-old, who scored 16 goals in 36 Serie A appearances last season for Sassuolo.

West Ham also remain interested in the Chelsea striker Armando Broja and the dialogue between the clubs remains open.

But Blues boss Thomas Tuchel has recently played down talk that the 20-year-old is set to leave the club this summer.

The Irons are also awaiting a response from Lille on the midfielder’s potential transfer Amadou Onana.

Meanwhile, West Ham have been frustrated in their signing attempts jesse lingard on a free transfer after Nottingham Forest made a substantial offer to sign the former Manchester United attacking midfielder.

West Ham have already made an offer to sign Lingard and are happy with the offer they have on the table. The Hammers are now awaiting his decision.

West Ham have made three signings so far this summer with the arrivals of defender Nayef Aguerd, who joined Rennes for £30m, and goalkeeper Alphonse Areola for £7.75m from Paris Saint-Germain after his successful loan spell last season and midfielder Flynn Downes. of Swansea City for an undisclosed sum.

West Ham boss David Moyes is looking to improve his squad ahead of a season which will see West Ham combine Premier League improvement with a debut campaign in the Europa Conference League.

Scamacca could be the next Zlatan

Scamacca still waiting for his first international goal for Italy

Gianluca Scamacca is in demand and it’s easy to see why. He’s a 6’5″ Italy international striker who scored 16 times in Serie A last season, a man capable of all kinds of goals. The only surprise is the path he took to the top.

At 23 years old, Scamacca is both an early phenomenon and a late bloomer. Identified at 15 as one of Europe’s brightest talents, he visited the Netherlands twice as a teenager in search of opportunities. But he was still on loan at Ascoli in Serie B at the age of 21.

Now, having shone for Sassuolo, he is seen not only as the striker around which Italy should build their attack, but also as a man who can command a fee in excess of £40m given that he could well be Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s heir. The tall man with the dancing feet.

Why is Broja requested?

Broja’s greatest strengths lie in areas that often go unnoticed. He excels at regaining possession in the final third, winning aerial jumps and running with the ball at his feet.

In fact, only five players picked up more possession in attacking areas last season – despite the Albanian starting just 21 league games.

As well as being among the league’s elite players for forward pressing, he also ranks in the top 10 for fast breaks.

Despite his limited playing time, the 20-year-old registered 112 touches in the opposition box – thanks to skillful movements, creating space and carrying the ball into dangerous areas.

Going deeper into his comebacks in a brief professional career to date, the youngster has scored 20 goals in just 48 starts in all competitions – an impressive strike rate, considering he’s also been clinched 35 times.
