Managing Director Richard Arnold and Director of Football John Murtough visited the city.

Wolves and Burnley are in talks over a transfer from Molineux for defender Nathan Collins.

The Midlands club are keen on the Republic of Ireland international, who impressed despite Burnley’s relegation from the Premier League last season. Collins has played 19 games in the top flight, having joined Stoke City last summer.

Andreas Pereira joins Fulham from Manchester United

Manchester United attacking midfielder Andreas Pereira has made a permanent move to Fulham.

The Athletic reported earlier this month that Fulham had an offer worth up to £10m accepted by United – £8m, with £2m in potential add-ons – and Pereira has now signed a four-year contract with the option of an additional year.

Pereira said: “I’m very happy to be here and I can’t wait to start the season with Fulham.

“I want to help Fulham as much as possible to be where they belong. Marco Silva was very important for this. I spoke with him a lot and he played a key role in my presence here.

Flynn Clarke joins Walsall on loan from Norwich City

Norwich City youngster Flynn Clarke has joined League Two Walsall on loan for the upcoming season.

The 19-year-old former Peterborough United midfielder made an impression in Premier League 2 for Norwich Under-23s last season, and his reward was training with Dean’s first team Smith during the preseason.

Now that the Norwich international players have returned for their preparations, Clarke has been cleared to join the club where Smith was both player and manager. Clarke will be hoping to grab some attention in the EFL before returning to Norwich next summer.

Meanwhile, former Norwich goalkeeper Aston Oxborough, 24, who was released by his boyhood club at the end of last season, is currently on trial at League Two Colchester United.

Liverpool Women sign Flaherty

Liverpool Women signed Gilly Flaherty after leaving West Ham.

The experienced defender enjoyed successful stints with Arsenal and Chelsea Women, before spending four years in charge of the Hammers, where she worked for a time with current Liverpool boss Mark Beard.

Beard said: “I’ve worked with Gilly before and followed her career when she was at Arsenal and Chelsea. She’s a fantastic defender, a great person, she’s a leader and I can’t wait to work with her again.

“We had a great working relationship at West Ham and I think we’re really lucky that she decided to move on and chose Liverpool. She can play at centre-back, she can play the midfield role that she’s played many times in her career, so again, that’s a bit of versatility as well.

Brentford close to signing Strakosha

Brentford are set to sign free agent Thomas Strakosha amid doubts over the long-term future of first-choice goalkeeper David Raya, Athleticism understand.

Raya and his representatives held a meeting with Brentford in May to discuss the terms of a new deal, but the 26-year-old did not accept their initial offer. It is understood that both parties want him to stay at the club and will continue to talk to find a positive solution.

Brentford were in the hunt for a replacement goalkeeper in the summer, but it looks like Strakosha is potentially in the process of replacing Raya. The Albania international is set to join the club on a four-year deal after his contract with Lazio expires.
