The Miami Heat’s scouting department is considered one of the best in the NBA.

So if the Heat like a player enough to warrant longer stares, it makes watchers sit up and take notice. Such was the case when Miami signed former Marquette and Oakland University forward Jamal Cain to a 10-piece deal earlier this month. This means the 6-foot-7 Cain will receive a training camp invite in the fall, and there are financial incentives to stay with the team’s G League affiliate if he is waived.
