Open Championship 2022 odds, picks: Tiger Woods predictions from a compound golf model that passed eight majors

Tiger Woods returned from a car accident in February 2021 to play in the Masters and PGA Championship this year, but ended up skipping the US Open. Woods will return to action when he takes part in the 2022 Open Championship, the final major of the year. He is a 50-1 long shot in the latest 2022 Open Championship odds at Caesars Sportsbook. Will Woods be one of the contenders for the 2022 British Open at St. Andrews? Rory McIlroy is the 9-1 favorite to win the 2022 Open Championship, while Jon Rahm is 11-1 and Scottie Scheffler is 12-1. Before you lock in your picks for The Open Championship 2022, be sure to check out the golf predictions and projected standings from SportsLine’s proven computer model.

SportsLine’s exclusive model, built by DFS pro Mike McClure, has been abuzz since the PGA Tour resumed in June 2020. In fact, it’s risen nearly $9,600 on its best bets since then, nailing tournament after tournament. .

At the 2022 Masters, McClure’s pattern was all over Scottie Scheffler’s first career major championship win heading into the weekend. The model also nailed Tiger Woods’ exact finishing position at Augusta National before the tournament started (47th). Additionally, McClure’s best bets included winning Collin Morikawa at the 2021 Open Championship, even though he was on the 40-1 long shot list.

This same model also managed eight major tournaments entering the weekend. Everyone who followed him saw massive returns.

Now that the Open Championship 2022 field is taking shape, SportsLine has simulated the event 10,000 times, and the results have been startling. Head over to SportsLine now to see the projected standings for The Open Championship 2022.

Best Open Championship 2022 Predictions

Huge shock model calls for Open Championship 2022: Scottie Scheffler, the No. 1 ranked player in the world and one of the top favorites, stumbles at St. Andrews and barely cracks the top five. Scheffler moved up to No. 1 in the world rankings with his first three PGA Tour wins early in the season and added his first major championship at the Masters in April. He managed to get all that success in six tournaments, but hasn’t been so dominant since then.

Scheffler missed the cut at the PGA Championship and finished outside the top 15 at the RBC Canadian Open. He also failed to make a top-10 finish in the Travelers Championship, so his form is lacking ahead of the last major tournament of the year. Its Open Championship 2022 short odds do not match its current form, which is one of the reasons the model recommends clearing it with your Open Championship 2022 bets.

The model also revealed where Tiger Woods will finish in the 2022 Open Championship. The 15-time major winner has played just seven rounds in official events since his car crash in February 2021. Woods has struggled to play and move around, but he played a full 18-hole practice round ahead of the 2022 Open after being limited to nine-hole practice rounds at other majors.

While practice is one thing, competing is another, and Woods hasn’t finished in the top 10 at a PGA Tour event since January 2020. However, he has course experience at St Andrews no one else can match as a double winner on these legendary links. Whatever his performance, all eyes will be on Woods at the British Open 2022.
