Watch John Daly smash a 300-yard drive using Eric Church’s beer can for a tee at St. Andrews

Just John Daly being John Daly.

As a golfer, you always dream of the ideal group of celebrities that you would like to play with one day…

And they might just be every country music and sports fan’s dream couple here.

Daly struggled at the British Open last week, shooting three over par to miss the cut by two shots, on the same course he won it all in 1995 at St. Andrews in Fife, Scotland.

Now, there’s one thing for sure about Long John, and that’s the fact that he never let a bad round of golf stop him from having fun.

Damn, the man was posted on the slot machines at a casino in Tulsa, Oklahoma after the first round of the PGA Championship this year, as if he didn’t get an early tee time in one of the biggest tournaments in the world the next day.

That being said, Daly decided to spend his weekend in Scotland playing with a few absolute legends, and we’re talking about Peyton, Eli and Cooper Manning, and Eric Church.

If I was playing in this band, I would have died completely satisfied if a lightning bolt had struck me as soon as I walked off the 18th green, because this band is something that any country/sports music fan who happens to play golf would kill for.

Although news of the dream couple broke last Friday, some behind-the-scenes footage of the couple is starting to surface, including a badass video of Daly tearing up a 300-yard drive after using Eric Church’s beer can as a tee. golf.

“Best ride I’ve done in three days”

I’d probably bet my savings on the fact that there was probably more beer in this group than golf, but nonetheless, you already know they were having a time and a half of fun at one of the best golf courses in the world.

Looks like George Strait was also prowling around the links in St. Andrews…tequila in hand.

I’m not going to lie, Eric Church, George Strait and John Daly sound like a dream quartet to me… next time guys.

John Daly says he would win more if he could play drunk and barefoot

John Daly…living legend.

professional golfer, Mermaid loveralcohol, cigarettes and Coke Light connoisseur, master of the belly flop… the man lives his life in a category of his own.

When you think of the kind of guys who could tell crazy stories for days, John is right up there with the biggest rock stars in the world. A rock star in his own right, the man is known for tidying up 35+ beers in one day, putting away 12 Diet Cokes during a round of golf… heck, he even released a country album featuring Willie Nelson.

However, as accomplished as he is, 5 wins on the PGA Tour including the PGA Championship, he admits there is one thing that would make his golf game even better.

Play drunk.

Sitting with Tomi Lahren, John recalled a time when he knocked golf balls out of Steve Ford’s mouth in the Loser’s parking lot (Steve owns Loser’s as well as Winner’s and Dawghouse Saloon in Midtown, Nashville).

Needless to say, some drinks were consumed:

“We were drunk as skunks…it was around 2 or 3 in the morning. If the PGA Tour let me play drunk, I would win a lot more tournaments.

And barefoot… if I could play the tour barefoot, that would be great.

Of course, drinking alcohol on the course is generally prohibited on the PGA Tour, but that doesn’t mean it wouldn’t make for good golf.

If LIV is looking to sign John Daly, they know what to do…

Still drunk…

Although this claim is not new…

John sat down for an interview with Graham Bensinger in 2016 and detailed how he used to play his best golf drunk.

He claims the golf course records he broke all came while playing drunk, shirtless and barefoot, and there were several nights on the PGA Tour where he wouldn’t return from a long night of partying. until 7-7:30 AM, with an 8am departure time.

He said:

“I won’t be sober until the 13th hole.”

Needless to say, some people are just built differently.

Perhaps the craziest part is the amount of alcohol he consumed on a daily basis. He admitted he drank anywhere from a case of beer to 35-40 beers

“I could drink, probably a case of 35 beers a day, or 40…Easily, yeah.”

He then said he would start drinking whiskey after beer.
